Ruth Sharkey’s Guide to Natural Conception

“Being a mum is a precious blessing from God… and although we haven’t met Ruth in person, after 6 years of trying through IVF - and then so quickly having success from following Ruth’s formula - we want to say to other couples trying to conceive, what have you got to lose…follow Ruth’s instructions and there is a good chance you too will realise your dream.”

L&G, Queensland

This and thousands of letters written by other happy parents, is testimony to the wealth of knowledge Ruth Sharkey has in treating infertility with natural therapies. In her latest book Ruth Sharkey’s Guide to Natural Conception, she has - in her usual no-nonsense manner - passed on this knowledge to help the reader understand more about hormonal imbalances, and how they can be overcome using natural means.

Ruth Sharkey’s Guide to Natural Conception includes the results of over twenty years research into the causes of:

  • Unexplained infertility
  • The effects of orthodox drugs on the female reproductive system
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Post natal disorders

Learn more about dietary modification and gender selection, bad habits and conception care, common disease and infections and the effect they have on fertility, along with the remedies to overcome all these problems. To help ensure the optimum health of mother and baby, Ruth has also included guidance for couples on what to expect during the pregnancy, baby’s progress, the labour and place of birth, postnatal care and common concerns of new parents.

Even though the male factor has been extensively covered in Fertlile Fathers - the companion book to Ruth Sharkey’s Guide to Natural Conception - Ruth has included more information on this aspect, and advised how couples can improve their overall health to ensure the baby they are creating has the best possible start in life.

Rebels with a Cause

Rebels with a Cause - Living with A.D.D. dispels the myths attached to Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.) and Attentions Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (A.D.H.D.) to help parents, families, teachers and the public understand how and why this damaging disorder is affecting our children.

Ruth has explained how it can sometimes feel for the sufferer that they are ‘going fast on the inside’ and what this actually means in regard to their whole body’s reaction to the disorder. Rebels with a Cause explains some of the causes of A.D.D., along with suggestions to help ranging from diet modifications, including the importance of minerals and a balance of acid and alkaline foods in the diet, food additives, allergies and intolerances, and also the chemicals found in our environment that can be just as great a problem. Ruth also explains how even ‘good food’ can trigger negative responses.

After explaining her approach regarding dietary changes, Ruth has listed the herbs and homoeopathics that she has found to help, plus some ideas for healthy exercise for mind and body.

Fertile Fathers

Did You Know...

• Antacids, cholesterol, blood pressure tablets and many more commonly used drugs have an adverse effect on sperm production?
• 50% of birth defects and infertility can be attributed to the male factor?
• Diet and lifestyle also affects conception?

In her latest book Fertile Fathers Ruth has answered these and many more questions relating to the escalating numbers of infertile couples. (Approx. 1 in 6 in the western world.)

Written as a companion book to Ruth’s best selling self-help book Natural Conception and now the new book Ruth Sharkey’s Guide to Natural Conception, Fertile Fathers is the first book of its kind, dealing solely with the issues and problems associated with male infertility.

Male problems account for half of all cases of infertility, yet there is minimal help available for men. In Fertile Fathers Ruth has, in her usual down-to-earth manner, brought to light many taboo subjects including impotency, ejaculation failure, medical and the so-called ‘recreational’ drugs and their reaction on the male reproductive system, plus the emotional impact infertility has on the male ego and psyche. Also included is information for men on how to cope with female problems and homely advice to help them express their inner feelings on intimacy and fatherhood.

Natural Conception (First and Second editions available)

Natural Conception was written to answer the hundreds of questions that Ruth received each day from her patients scattered across 35 countries.

In her usual easy-to-read style, Ruth has explained the causes of infertility both male and female; from stress and crisis management, lifestyle including diet, coffee, smoking and drug use (medicinal and recreational) chemicals in the environment, the cell growth of the embryo and choosing the child’s gender, to complaints such as Poly-cystic Ovaries (PCOS), endometriosis, blocked tubes, cysts, sperm development and other factors that may be causing delayed conception such as frequent miscarriages, imbalances in the pH of the body and the problems facing older mothers.

In Natural Conception Ruth has put forward her answers to the question of why there is such a large problem - 1 in 6 couples in the developed countries of the world - having difficulty with conception, and listed the wide variety of natural remedies that can help, including how the herbs can and do work with the various medical procedures, along with testimonials from patients all over the world.

Rated in Queensland’s Top Ten Best Seller list for six months after it’s release in 1996, the second edition of Natural Conception was released in January 2001, updating the latest information from all over the world.

Healing the Bodies

Ruth’s first book, The Mysterious Powers in Man and Plants, was published in 1992 after 7 years research into the endocrine system and the herbs used to help these glands, and a life-time’s study of the many aspects of health and well-being on the whole body. In 1997, this was revised and updated to become Healing the Bodies where Ruth wrote:

“In preparing this new volume, I have drawn heavily on my work in that first book, but the information has been significantly updated, expanded, reworked and improved. The result, I hope, is an easy-to-read, informative text which will go some way towards fulfilling one of my goals - a healthier planet with healthier and happier inhabitants who are less reliant on synthetic chemicals and drugs and more in tune with the environment and the different aspects of their being - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.”

Written as a self-help book but perfect for the student or practitioner alike, Healing the Bodies explains how the hormone producing glands of the body - the pituitary, pineal, thyroid, thymus, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal and the male and female reproductive glands - work and the problems that can arise when these glands are not functioning properly. Listing the uses (including the active constituents) of over 90 herbs, with original illustrations of each herb, Healing the Bodies also includes diets, exercises, and meditation techniques, plus information on other natural therapies such as colour healing, hypnotherapy, regression and psychic self-help.

Healing the Bodies explains Ruth and Dennis’ approach to healing, as it is through using the herbs to help balance these glands that they have achieved their phenomenal successes over the past 20 years.

Healing the Bodies was in the Queensland Top Ten Best Sellers list for six months after it’s release.
