The Lady Nelson is a replica of the ship used to found the settlement of Hobart in 1803, made from Tasmanian Blue Gum and Celery Top Pine, she was built in Perch Bay and Kettering in 1987-8  for Tasmania’s Tall Ship Bicentenary.

This oil painting depicts the Lady Nelson at the Woodbridge jetty preparing to depart for Hobart on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, where I often catch a glimpse of her from my art room.
